Mari Carr Flores Art

I had always wanted to paint our Blessed Mother. My devotion began as a child with my beautiful mother that taught me to honor Mary. As a child, I would bring flowers I picked from my yard to the church only blocks away from my home.  In 2018, my mom was diagnosed with leukemia.  I painted with all my love and prayers for my mother. I chose the bright colors as they always bring me happiness and joy.  The butterflies were placed as a meaning of constant transformation we all go through during our trials and challenges of our lives. 

Mom passed at the end of that year, but the lessons of her faith are instilled in me forever. I know she is still with us and embrace the day I will see her again.
